O Brother Where Art Thou
Starring: George Clooney, John Turturro, Tim Blake Nelson, Chris Thomas King, and Holly Hunter
Directed by: Joel Coen
Synopsis: Based on Homer's Odyssey, three men escape from jail and set out on an adventure to recover a fortune that the leader hid before he was taken to jail. As they sojourn, they come accross many characters and adventures that I could only describe as wacky. Meanwhile, they are being relentless pursued by a lawman that will stop at nothing to bring them in.
My thoughts: Everything about this film is phenomenal. I don't know anything about The Odyssey, but the Coen brothers are brilliant. The cinematography and coloring used was remarkable, for they gave the film an "artsy" look but the movie felt like a mainstream film. Clooney gives an awesome performance that shows he can move past his type-castings of the past.
