The Mexican

Starring: Brad Pitt, Julia Roberts, and James Gandolfini

Directed by: Gore Verbinski

Synopsis: A man in debt to the mafia (Pitt) is forced to go to Mexico to pick up a priceless pistol called The Mexican much to his girlfriend's (Roberts) dismay. To ensure he doesn't double cross the crime boss, a hitman takes his girlfriend hostage until his return. Naturally, everything than can get in his way of getting the gun back to America happens.

My thoughts: Pitt's misfortunes in Mexico are funny and entertaining, but he and Roberts have absolutely no chemistry together, and the chemistry between Roberts and the hitman (Gandolfini) is both unlikely and unusual. It would have been a great movie with just Pitt, who made the movie worthwile.

Score: 7 out of 10
