Lucky Numbers
Starring: John Travolta, Lisa Kudrow, Tim Roth, Ed O'Neill, and Bill Pullman
Directed by: Nora Ephron
Synopsis: A popular weatherman that also runs a snowmobile business gets down on his luck when his town has an abnormally warm winter. Now as the bills pile up and his car and house begin to get repo'ed, he and his girlfriend, who is also the lotto girl at his television station, sloppily rig the lotto so they they win $6.4 million. Now as more and more people find out, their piece of the pie gets smaller and smaller until the body count starts to rise.
My thoughts: 2000 was a bad year for Travolta with his only two movies (this and Battlefield Earth) bombing so badly. Nora Ephron, who usually hits the mark (You've Got Mail, Sleepless in Seattle) with her films, gave us a severe misfire. The characters are unlikable, and the plot moves at an off pace. It's worth a few laughs and that's about it
Score: 6 out of 10
